Retreats
HIV/AIDS retreats are intended to provide people affected by the disease with a form of therapy. They can provide much needed reflection and recreation. Some people feel isolated because of having HIV or AIDS, and these retreats help to provide a sense of community for people living with the disease. Through such arrangements, they can come together and share their experiences, fears and goals for the future.

PWA camp outs are camping trips in the Texas Hill Country for those who may not have the finances, the transportation or the equipment to go camping due to the impact of HIV/AIDS on their lives. There are two camp outs every year; one in May, and one in September.

COUPLES WORKSHOP RETREAT

For HIV+ Members and their HIV- Partners, the BCPWA is offering a 4 day/3 night workshop for 12 HIV+/HIV- couples to engage in peer and professionally lead activities to strengthen, affirm and support their relationships. Located at the Walter C. Koerner Lodge at UBC’s Loon Lake Research and Education Centre, couples will socialize and take part in fun and therapeutic group and couple activities. This retreat is free of cost to HIV-positive members of BCPWA and to their HIV-negative partners. Created and run by the BCPWA Retreat Team.
